We believe that every body has the right to feel beautiful. Please see our dedicated page for full details.
We fully guarantee our workmanship and your satisfaction. If you aren’t thrilled with your wedding dress, contact us right away.
To return an undamaged gown, please alert us within 3 days of receipt. We will return your total cost less the initial deposit and we’ll recycle the fabric and make sure that it is not wasted. Please be aware: We have a strict non-smoking, pet-free policy: if you are a smoker you must abide by our non-smoking request while you are reviewing your purchase. We also ask that you try to keep your gown free of pet dander (we know that can be a challenge!). We reserve the right to reject any returns or exchanges that do not meet these conditions. Please see our Terms and Conditions and our FAQ’s for more details.
In case of damage during shipping: We highly recommend that you photograph the damage immediately, as this will assist in any claims. To return a gown for a refund or repairs due to shipping damage, contact us within 3 days of receipt for pre-authorization to send the gown to us at our cost. We accept shipping-damaged returns so long as the gown is unworn (apart from trying it on) and in the original packaging.
If your dress is damaged during shipping, we will repair it at no extra charge as soon as possible. If you stain or tear your gown during normal wear, we’re happy to fix it for you. Repairs to damage during normal wear may require an extra charge and we would clear any costs with you first. Please note that you are responsible for shipping charges both ways for repairs to damages incurred through normal wear. The repairs will be made exactly to your gown’s original specifications.
We realize that it may be rare for custom-made gowns to have a return policy, but we wish for you to be completely happy with your experience in every way. We’d want to do everything we can to make it right.
We know that security is the number one priority when shopping online, even on wedding dress websites. Payment info is managed by 3rd party services (e.g. Paypal, e-check). Payment information is not stored anywhere on our site.
We are very serious about personal privacy and we will not share your information with anyone at any time. When you contact us or request swatches, you are not creating an account and we won’t use your info to bug you later. Honestly. We hate spam too.
Changes to current designs may reasonably require an extra charge; custom designs would cost according to time and materials. All changes would be agreed upon in your original contract before dress creation commences. Ping us if you have any questions!
We accept payment via Paypal, money order, echeck and personal check. Cash is great if you’re local, but please don’t send cash through the mail! For the convenience of our UK clients, we can accept direct bank transfers in £. No currency changing fees and no VAT!
A 25% (non-refundable) deposit is required when you place your order. If any circumstances force us to cancel an order (has yet to happen), all deposits and payments are returned to you in full. If you cancel, only the deposit will be forfeit.
We believe that sustainable practice doesn’t end with the finished product. As part of our commitment to minimize our impact on the planet, our packaging is recycled and/or is completely biodegradable.
We ship your gown in garment bags made from vegetable-based biodegradable plastic which can be re-used to return plant matter, such as garden clippings, to the soil. Our packing tissue is preservation-grade, unbleached, acid-free and is derived from sustainably-managed forests. The tissue is suitable for long-term gown storage for your convenience. Our garment boxes are re-used and recyclable too. We will always re-use any packaging materials we receive rather than allow them to go to a landfill. Don’t be surprised if you receive recycled boxes that were sent to us first!
Before your final payment we’ll explore all shipping options with you so that you will know the total cost up front. You can then choose which shipping works best for you. Once all is complete, we’ll let you know when your gown is being shipped and provide tracking info. Contact us for international orders.
Or save yourself the shipping charges! Come to our workshop to collect your gown in person. Many clients do this so that they can also benefit from a final fitting in our studio at no extra charge. Plus, we’d love to see you in your dress!
The minimum ordering time to receive regular pricing for one wedding gown is eight (8) weeks prior to your wedding date, or six (6) weeks if you can come in person to our Boston-area studio. A gown ordered later than this is considered a rush order. This applies only to single wedding gowns only. Multiple items ordered will require more time. Note: We must receive your deposit before we can schedule your gown’s creation. Your cleared deposit constitutes the date of the dress order.
Our surcharge schedule for full-service gowns with mock-up required (non-local brides):
– 5-8 weeks’ notice: 25% surcharge;
– 4-5 weeks’ notice: 50% surcharge;
– 2-4 weeks’ notice: 75% surcharge.
Local brides get a lot more wiggle-room, since we can do much more of the work ourselves. Out of respect for our artists and in order to guarantee the workmanship of our gowns, we regret that we cannot accept orders made less than 2 weeks in advance under any circumstances.
As an exclusive service to our wedding gown clients, we can shorten your gown into a party dress; contact us for details. We don’t dye fabrics in-house, but our unbleached hemp silk takes a dye beautifully and makes wonderful party/reception dresses if you’re up for the challenge. Re-use your dress for your next friend’s nuptials!

Our Ethical Pledge
The silk we use in our designs is either new hempsilk or reclaimed silk fabrics, repurposed from unwanted dresses which would have eventually ended up in a landfill. We believe that by giving pre-loved dresses a new life and extending their usefulness, we not only honor the initial sacrifice of the silkworms but we honor the laborers who wove the original fabric. We do this by reclaiming and re-using a resource that would otherwise be wasted.
