How to Order Your Eco Wedding Dress
3 Easy Steps.
1) Choose your design and fabrics:
- hempsilk satin - reclaimed silk (silk satin and raw silk) - organic and fair-trade cotton - vintage fabrics
Prices listed are for the designs as shown on the website only. We can usually make minor changes to the designs but may require a surcharge, depending on the complexity. All changes must be included in your original contract and requested before work is begun; please see our FAQ page or contact us for details.
If you're not sure which design to go for, we offer dress advice to help you along. You are most welcome to visit our studio in State College to try on samples. Give us a shout and let us know when to put the kettle on.
2) Fill out our 'Details' form and send us your dates:
We have a detailed online form that lays it all out clearly. [Note: the link shows an example only. We send you the actual form when you contact us.] The form creates a work contract so that we're all on the same page, as it were. To take your measurements, see our how-to page for clear photos, details and help.
If taking your measurements seems daunting, we offer a personal initial fitting in which we do the work for you. Come to our studio during work hours and we'll take care of everything. We can even come to you. If we come to you, we would ask to be reimbursed for travel expenses.
We will create a toile of your dress out of reclaimed cotton (so much more comfy than the traditional muslin) which will be tailored to you for a perfect fit. The toile becomes your personal dress pattern. If you can't come to us, we'll send it to you. It's a beautifully effective way of fitting clients who cannot be in our studio in person!
Note: The date on which you wish your gown delivered should be at least 6 weeks from the date that your deposit is received (see 'Timing' below). We do offer a rush-order service, but there may be a surcharge depending on how soon you need your gown; see 'Rush Orders' in Our Policies for full details.
In-person fittings and alterations are all included in the dress price; there is no extra charge.
2.1) (Optional) View your gown in progress:
If you choose, you can view your gown in progress anytime you like (Note: there is an extra charge for this service, since it takes extra time for us to manage. Contact us for details.). On your personal dress page, we can post pictures and comments on the status of your dress and we'll update it regularly, usually every 1-3 business days. You can watch your dress's creation, step by step, and email us with any questions or thoughts. You can share this page with anyone you choose, including friends and family when they ask you how your dress is coming along. And of course they will.
3) Receive your dress:
When your dress is ready the payment balance will be due. We'll then send your gown directly to you. Or you may save the postage: come to us for your final fitting and take your gown home with you. Please note that we can only guarantee the fit if we complete the final fitting in person. If you cannot come to us for a fitting, you can simply have someone local provide any fine-tuning. With our exclusive adjustable lacing panel, there's rarely a need for extensive alterations.
Timing: We suggest that you order your dress no less than 6 weeks in advance of your delivery date. You'll notice that our turnaround is significantly less of a wait than for most gowns ordered from a boutique. Why? Because we create our designs in-house and use no middlemen; your dress comes directly from the artists who make it.
Final pressing: We recommend that you have your gown professionally pressed or steamed to remove any wrinkles that may occur in transit.

Choosing your wedding dress is a very personal experience. Whether you want to take minutes or months, you should never feel rushed or under pressure. It's normal to feel nervous about your wedding, but anxiety about your gown is something that we think that you should never feel; you have enough to think about.
We are happy to answer your questions or discuss your dress. Contact us by phone during business hours or by email anytime. We love to chat on the phone but prefer to conduct our general communication via email. Email saves paper and yields a written record that's easily shared if you want an extra opinion.
Namaste.
